There are several ways to come to Drama from Thessaloniki:
The best in our opinion is by car. You can rent a car with any of Avis, Hertz or Europcar, the people of these companies at the airport all speak english and are going to help you get and return a car. The drive to Drama will be about 2 hours and it will cost about €30 for petrol and tolls as well as €50 for the rental car per day.
You can also take the bus. There is a bus station right out of the departures at the airport, and from there you can take bus 78 to travel to the other side of Thessaloniki where the domestic bus station is, this will take about 1 hour and it will cost €2 per person. From the domestic bus station, you will have to take the bus to Drama (travels every hour from 7am to 8pm) that will take about 2 hours and cost €13 per person.
Travel by train. We don't use trains a lot in Greece because they don't run very often and it takes more time than any other route, although it's a nice ride for the more romantic people that would like to get to Drama through villages and mountains. This way now is a bit more complex: You have to take bus number 79 from the airport, then change to number 2 at IKEA station and this will take you to the train station (€2 pp for both routes). From the train station there is 2 daily trains to Drama, one at 6:55am and the other at 16:01pm (mind possible delays :P) ,this will be a 3 - 3,5 hours ride, and will cost about €10 per person.
Taxi drive. There is one other way, which is the most expensive but it's possible as a last resort, to take a taxi to Drama. Any driver will make a deal that will be between €150 and €180 for one way to Drama.
